The Silent Heroes
''The Silent Heroes'' is a 2015 adventure drama following the story of 13 real-life deaf children, written and directed by debutant journalist-turned-filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Kamal Birani, presented by Hans Productions and Reality Films.
The movie follows the adventures of 13 real-life deaf children and their perilous journey across the mountainous terrains of Uttarakhand. It was filmed in Gangotri Valley, a high risk area, post the floods of 2013. The story aims to highlight the courage and determination of a group of disabled children.
The movie has run successfully at many film festivals and will be the world’s first open captioned movie〔〔 to be released in an effort to benefit those with hearing impairment, making it the world’s first deaf audience friendly movie.〔〔
